Counselling Sessions

Counselling is a compassionate, person-centred, and trauma-informed space where you can explore issues important to you with professional support and partnership.

Each person is inherently unique, with their own goals, insights, and hopes for themselves. Our counselling sessions reflect this uniqueness, acknowledging and respecting client autonomy, self-determination, and the client's role as the expert in their own life.

I work with clients experiencing challenges including:

  • Anxiety

  • Stress, burnout, and overwhelm

  • Depression

  • Feelings of disconnection and loneliness

  • Shame, and self-criticism

  • Trauma

  • Grief and loss

  • Life changes

  • Chronic, invisible, and serious illness

  • Relationship issues

  • Workplace issues

  • Emotional dysregulation

My counselling style is compassion-focused, person-centred, and trauma-informed. While reflective listening underpins all sessions, I use an integrated approach depending on the individual needs of each person.

I have a particular interest in Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and use these as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Socratic questioning, creative therapies, and Motivational Interviewing, depending on each client’s individual goals and needs.

Mental Health Coaching Sessions

Mental health coaching is a solution-focused, change-oriented modality that supports you to work through life challenges.

Unlike counselling, mental health coaching focuses on your present and the future. Collaboratively, you identify goals and develop a strategy to make the changes important to you.

Mental health coaching uses techniques such as Socratic questioning, Motivational Interviewing, reflective listening, solution-focused interventions, goal setting, and mindfulness. It may draw upon behaviour change techniques such as visualisation, acceptance, emotional regulation, and behaviour activation.

I work with clients experiencing challenges including:

  • Anxiety

  • Stress, burnout, and overwhelm

  • Uncertainty

  • Self-criticism

  • Life changes

  • Chronic, invisible, and serious illness
