Mental Health in Sport

Sport is an excellent platform for people to have a sense of belonging, participation, positive relationships and connectedness. These are protective factors for good mental health.

Sport can also present unique challenges across a range of roles.

Freshwater Harmony specialises in working with sporting groups to conduct mental health and well-being training and increase mental health literacy.

By developing key skills and specialised knowledge, participants have the confidence to recognise the signs when an athlete, official, administrator or coach is not travelling well.

“As an International Category 1 Technical Official for Weightlifting, I understand the pressure that can arise at all levels of sport. I have seen first-hand the profound impact a conversation about mental health can have on everyone involved”.

(Leanne Springer, Owner Freshwater Harmony)

We work across all sports including; weightlifting, rugby league, powerlifting, rowing, hockey, swimming, volleyball and athletics.
